Are we in the Twilight Zone?

Israel. The Middle East. Hamas. Palestine. Protests. Conflict. War. Death.

What to say? Where to begin?

As an American Jewish Believer (i.e. Messianic Jew, Christian Jew) who lived through the past five decades, I have had a clear and strong opinion about Israel and terrorism. And I am learning more everyday as I dig into history and go down various “rabbit holes” of information out there.

Sadly, the attack on Israel by Hamas on October 7th actually happened on our 22nd wedding anniversary. Do the math. We got married less than a month after September 11, 2001. That wasn’t our original plan. But when 9/11 happened, we chose to move everything up. This past week has been surreal.

One thing that worries me is how this generation of college-aged students are buying into the propaganda and rhetoric being spewed all over social media, especially TikTok. Cameras on phones create instant worldwide communication on the news and social media and makes it difficult to know who or what to even believe anymore.

The most disturbing result of this horror is all the innocent people – both Israeli and Palestinian – that have been/are being injured, murdered, raped, terrorized, kidnapped, and more.

How did we get here? What in the world is going on?

Why does it feel like we are in “The Twilight Zone?”

I pray that people wake up to the TRUTH. Truth isn’t relative. Truth isn’t yours to decide. Truth is absolute. Truth is based on facts.

I pray for all the innocents.

And I pray for peace in Israel and throughout the Middle East.
